8 in the Bible means new beginning...

Today is August 1 and a new month begins for all of us; August, 8th month of the year. The number 8 in the Bible represents a new beginning, a new beginning, something new that God wants to do for you and for me.
Right now at Christian Family Church, we are studying the life of Nehemiah. The book of Nehemiah, found in the historical books section, is certainly terrific.
History shows us that the children of Israel had lost their place and they went through very difficult times. Their life was shattered and the place where they were was destroyed. But when they repented, they returned to God, God granted them grace, gave them courage and strength to rebuild and to be restored. God also gave them a new revival for their life.
We serve a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
My brothers and sisters, this same grace by God has been given to us. We cannot become stuck in our past or remain a prisoner of our past. We've all made mistakes, we've all made bad decisions.
We all may feel that the enemy has caused a lot of damage in our lives and we are going in circles. However, the moment of discouragement must end. The time to regain a taste for life has arrived and we must rebuild our dreams.
Let's read together the 1st chapter of Nehemiah in verse 2 (KJV): “Hanani, one of my brothers, and some men came from Judah. I asked them about the escaped Jews who had remained from captivity, and about Jerusalem. »
Nehemiah asked two crucial questions: how is the Jewish people, and how is the city of Jerusalem. Unfortunately he received a very disheartening response from his friend; in verse 3: “They said unto me, Those that are left from the captivity are there in the province, in the height of misfortune and reproach; the walls of Jerusalem are in ruins, and its gates are consumed with fire. »
We see that the people are in a state of discouragement, they are unhappy, ashamed, destroyed and broken. The state of the city is no better as the walls are in ruins and the gates of Jerusalem are consumed by fire. Hanani's response to Nehemiah gives him a very negative view.
My brothers and sisters, however, let us know that all things can be changed through prayer. This man, Nehemiah, when he heard these things, wept but he did not let discouragement take over. In verse 4 the Bible tells us that Nehemiah prayed and fasted before the God of heaven.
I want to encourage you today, don't let discouragement, depression or distress take over your life. No matter the situation, we can regain control when we submit to God in our prayers. We can rebuild. God is a God of grace and mercy.
During the month of August, I will help you understand how you can rebuild your life. Nehemiah's name means 'God comforts'. We serve a comforting God. Consolation does not mean that God will come and hug you just for a moment and then leave. No, when God comforts, He takes us to another dimension, He takes us out of this pitiful state we were in and He brings us to a dimension of glory. The seasons change in our lives. Participate and collaborate with God through your prayer. Prayer, with faith, makes the impossible possible.
Nehemiah is a motivator of men. He will motivate the people to rebuild. My desire is to be like Nehemiah, in order to motivate and inspire you to pray, get into spiritual action and regain a taste for life.
I hope you learned something today, I will be with you again tomorrow to explain more about Nehemiah's life.
Brothers and sisters we are not going to give up. We will rebuild and rebuild until we reach our life's dream.
God bless you and welcome to the month of new beginnings!
